Clean, tone and moisturize! Tips for easy skincare

One of the first things you notice when you speak with a person is the face, right? At least it is for me, so that is one of the things I care most about. I want the makeup to be perfect – but more importantly, I care about my skin! So I’d like to share some of my tips for an easy skincare routine

All types of skin need proper skincare!

Did you know that your skin is the biggest organ in your body? So of course we need to take care of it! Everyday! To be sure that you provide the best skincare possible for your skin, you need to determine your skin type. All skin types need more or less the same routines! So even though you for example have a normal skin type without any problems, you’d still need to take care of your skin daily!

However, your skin type determines what kind of products that are needed to give the best skincare and protection for your skin. The most normal skin types are normal, combined, oily or dry skin. A lot of people also have very sensitive skin, where it’s even more important to find the right products and routines for you.

Woman with beautiful skin

I’ll just give you 3 easy steps for a basic skincare routine, however, if you want there is a lot of other steps that you can do if you want to do even more for your skin. You can read a bit more about what you also could do in this article: “Do you use a face serum? Pro tips for facial care!”.

I have oily skin with a tendency to acne and a lot of spots. Though a few years ago I changed my skincare routine, and now my skin is much better! I still often get spots, but it’s not covering my face. I feel so much better, and have really given a lot of my confidence back! So I’d like to share my experience and routines with you!

1. Always clean your face

The first thing you need to always do is to cleanse your skin. It’s very important to clean your skin both in the morning and in the evening! It’s obvious that you of course have to clean your skin in the evening after a long day, but it’s also important in the morning. Especially when you have oily skin, as you are producing oils during the night. One of my favorite brands is Clinique. So I use their Liquid Facial Soap Oily Skin Formula to clean my face.

2. Use a skin tonic to prepare your skin

The next step is to use a skin tonic and for that, it’s really important you use one for oily skin. It will help decrease the shine. A skin tonic is also very good to use, as it closes your pores and prepares your skin for the next steps. For this, I use a Face Tonic from Australian Bodycare as it contains Tea Tree Oil which is very good for oily skin!

3. Finish off with a moisturizing cream

The last step in this easy guide is to use a good day and night cream. I personally recommend using a gel for the day instead of a cream, as it prevents a feeling of greasy skin. Even though you have oily skin, it’s very important to moisturize your skin, you just have to be certain you are using the correct one! If you are using one not for oily skin, you might damage more than you want to.

I again use Clinique for my creams, for the day I use “Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel” and for the night I use “Superdefense Night Skin Type 3+4”.

Find products that fit your skin – but also your budget!

These tips are for oily skin, but if you want some advice to find out what skin type you have, you can check out this article at Kiehl’s. It’s a very easy and useful guide. I hope you found these tips just a little useful and will take care of your skin! You have to live with the rest of your life – so don’t waste it! It’s very easy to take of the skin with these simple steps.

I also want to remind you, that you don’t have to use brands like Clinique, that might be over your budget. A lot of other brands that cost a lot less have made some really nice products as well. I have for example heard a lot of good things about L’Oréal and their skin series. So check out the market, I’m sure you’ll find something that fits both your skin and your budget!
