Frequently asked Questions
What screen resolutions are available to subscribers? Our wallpapers are available in standard (4:3) and widescreen (16:9) formats in the following sizes: 1024x768, 1280x960, 1280x1024, 1600x1200, 1440x900, 1680x1050 and 1920x1200. Since August 2006 we have also started adding 30" widescreen (2560x1600), dual screen (2048x768, 2560x1024 and 3200x1600) and dual widescreen (2880x900, 3360x1050 and 3840x1200) wallpapers to our collection. All new single screen wallpapers will be available at 2560x1600 and dual screen versions of suitable images will be added as often as possible. Is the member's gallery regularly updated? Normally I will add at least one image per week and usually more and in fact have averaged an image per day for the last couple of months. Obviously the length of time needed to create an image governs the frequency of new artwork and large format images necessarily take longer. However, when things are running smoothly, new images will appear at a rate that should keep everybody satisfied. Do you create all of the images yourself? Yes I do, all images are created by myself. Can members give feedback on the images? Yes they can, the member's gallery includes full commenting and rating facilities. Why aren't all of the wallpapers free? Most people work for a living and I'm no exception, I like to eat and so does my family and this site helps provide for them. I used to have a regular job but after marrying my wife and emigrating to the USA I've thrown caution to the wind and am trying to earn my living doing the things I love. How much does a subscription cost? Members are currently charged $10 for a full year's subscription. I have no plans at present to offer a lifetime membership as lifetime is too ambiguous a term (mine or yours?). Do you automatically bill me when my subscription expires? No, I don't like it when its done to me so will never do it to others. One week before the expiry date you will be sent an e-mail reminder and it is your decision whether to renew your membership or allow it to expire. Once your membership has expired your account will be disabled but not deleted, so should you decide to sign up again at a later date you can resume where you left off with the same username. Currently only by credit card, debit card or PayPal. The payment processor I use is PayPal which does not require you to have an account if using credit or debit cards (you simply say no when asked if you want to create an account). Once you have paid your membership will be automatically created within minutes and you can begin downloading straight away. |
